The 5th Quality Health Care Conference and Exhibition, Policy and Practice : A Partnership for Better Outcomes

Under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II and for the fifth time since 2010 this conference is set to be the premiere health care quality event of the year, providing a unique professional development and networking opportunity for all participants and healthcare stakeholders in Jordan and the Region.

The conferences of 2010, 2012, 2015 and 2017 hosted a mix of international, local and regional speakers, experts in the field of health care accreditation, quality improvement and patient safety. The conferences were attended by an average of 450-500 participants from the healthcare field including healthcare providers (doctors, nurses, technician…etc.), administrators and policy makers. 

The Steering Committee of the HCAC Fifth Quality Health Care Conference & Exhibition 2019 is chaired by Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri, Chairman of the Private Hospital Association. Co- Chaired by Her Excellency Dr. Rowaida Al Maaitah, Advisor to Her Royal Highness Princess Muna Al-Hussein and faculty member of the Jordan University of Science and Technology. 

The planning of the Conference & Exhibition combines a collaborative effort of committed individuals from world-renowned organizations with a vested interest in improving health care and outcomes for patients and communities by building cultures of quality and patient safety within organizations that provide health care services.

Quality and patient safety is a science and culture that is emerging rapidly with new approaches and successes. HCAC brings to your door step the international, regional and local best practices and innovations in order for you to adopt what suits you and to drive your entity to focus on patients and quality service.

This prestigious event once more aims to bring together leading scientists, public health experts and policy-makers. The conference will host a minimum of 500 attendees from Jordan and the region who are responsible for health care quality improvement and patient safety, providing a valuable opportunity to identify, meet and communicate with a variety of potential clients and existing customers.

The Health Care Accreditation Council, Department of Accreditation is organizing its first of a kind symposium for accredited healthcare institutions to showcase and celebrate the impact and changes encountered in their hospitals as a result of enrolling in the accreditation journey. This symposium is taking place on Monday 11th November 2019 as part of the HCAC 5th Quality Healthcare Conference workshop days.

HCAC accredited healthcare institutions have submitted success stories within 5 categories.

  • D. Patient centered care
  • E. Sustainable environment, energy conservation and green initiatives

 

The forum is to discuss success stories, innovative initiatives and outstanding achievements among HCAC accredited hospitals. The symposium will celebrate success stories and recognize achievement while providing a unique platform for sharing and transferring knowledge among accredited hospitals. Six hospital projects will be presented and judged by an independent panel according to a set f predefined criterion. Winners will be announced and will receive their awards at the end of the HCAC 5th Quality Health Conference.

The Health Care Accreditation Council is hosting a round table discussion for a select group of nursing leadership, practitioners and future nursing graduates to create a national policy dialogue on Jordan’s efforts in investing in and empowering nurses and midwifes, in line with the national nursing and midwifery strategy and global health direction and initiatives, including “Nursing Now Campaign-Jordan”. This roundtable discussion, held on the sides of the HCAC 5th Quality in Healthcare Conference and exhibition will:

  • Provide an overview of the “Nursing Now Campaign”,
  • Discuss Jordanian nursing institutions’ planned efforts in response to the “Nursing Now Campaign”, Nightingale Challenge and the State-of-the-World Nursing report, and
  • Discuss next steps for the way forward to strengthen nursing and midwifery.

 

 


Keynote Speaker

Lord Nigel Crisp is an independent crossbench member of the House of Lords where he co-chairs the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Global Health. He also co-chairs Nursing Now, the global campaign on nursing.
He was previously Chief Executive of the English NHS and Permanent Secretary of the UK Department of Health - the largest health organization in the world with 1.3 million employees – where he led major reforms between 2000 and 2006.

Lord Crisp is a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, an Honorary Professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a Foreign Associate of the US National Academy of Medicine.
