ABHs-3: “Age-Specific-Care” Subject-Matter-Expert

The Health Care Accreditation Council is a not-for-profit organization based in Jordan, specialized in improving quality and safety in health care facilities, services and programs, and fostering patient-centered care through developing internationally accepted standards, developing and implementing quality management systems, building the capacity of administrators and providers as well as awarding accreditation and monitoring compliance.

The Health Care Accreditation Council has been implementing for the past 4 years a preparation for accreditation program in Al-Bashir hospitals under USAID funding, and is now seeking to hire an age-specific-care Subject-Matter-Expert (SME) to design and deliver educational sessions that provide specialized knowledge and skills related to caring for individuals in a specific age group. 

The ideal candidate for the role would demonstrate a profound comprehension of the physical, cognitive, and psychosocial features of the intended age group. Additionally, they should possess the ability to create teaching methodologies and resources that are specifically customized to meet the unique requirements of this demographic.

The training material may cover topics such as but not limited to: the developmental stages health promotion, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditions etc. The SME/Trainer would also facilitate group discussions, provide feedback, and support to participants, and evaluate the effectiveness of the training in meeting the learning objectives.

The subject matter expert (SME) in the role of a trainer would be responsible for presenting case studies, leading group discussions, offering feedback and assistance to participants, and assessing the efficacy of the training program in fulfilling the learning objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. A Master's degree in nursing or any related field, with experience in care-for-specific age groups.
  2. Certifications in relevant specialty areas, such as pediatric or geriatrics is preferable.
  3. At least 5 years’ experience working with individuals in the target age group.
  4. Deep understanding of the physical, cognitive, and psychosocial characteristics of the target age group
  5. Excellent communication and teaching skills
  6. A strong commitment to professionalism and ethical conduct, including adherence to codes of conduct and ethical guidelines for healthcare professionals.
  7. Awareness of national and international standards of care for specific age-group patients.
  8. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up to date with advances in the field, through participation in conferences, trainings, and other continuing education opportunities.
