The Health Care Accreditation Council is very pleased to publish the fourth edition of the Primary Health Care Accreditation Standards 2022. This new edition of the standards fulfills, in part, the HCAC mission to foster the continuous improvement of the quality and safety of health care facilities, services, and programs through developing internationally accepted standards, capacity building, and awarding accreditation which meet the requirements of the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua) External Evaluation Association (IEEA).

The fourth edition of the HCAC Primary Health Care Accreditation Standards has retained the patient centered-focus as in the previous editions, and also kept the same framework and guiding principles, while expanding in health promotion, early detection and prevention, continuity of care, as well as emergency preparedness requirements.
