HCAC-WASH-SME-1  

The Health Care Accreditation Council is seeking to recruit a highly qualified WASH Subject Matter Expert (SME) to assist HCAC in its project to support MOH to establish recognitions systems and monitoring and evaluation frameworks for WASH and IPC in healthcare Facilities.  

Duration of the scope: 14 working days

Responsibilities:

  • Review and Evaluation:
    • Review the WASH/IPC monitoring and evaluation framework and training materials from a WASH perspective.
    • Provide recommendations for improvements and ensure alignment with international standards and best practices.
  • Training Delivery:
    • Prepare and conduct a 2-day training for surveys and consultants on WASH/IPC standards.
    • Collaborate with the IPC SME in developing the training materials and co-facilitating the training sessions.

Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of a Master’s degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field. A PhD is preferred but not mandatory.
  2. At least 7-10 years of experience working in the WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) sector, with substantial experience in WASH/IPC (Infection Prevention and Control) program design, implementation, and evaluation.
  3. Proven experience in developing and reviewing WASH/IPC monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
  4. Experience in delivering training and capacity-building activities related to WASH and IPC standards.
  5. Strong knowledge of international WASH/IPC standards and best practices, including UNICEF guidelines.
  6. Experience in designing training materials and conducting training sessions.
  7. Good Interpersonal and Communication skills.
