VACANCY- (CHN-2-2023) LACTATION COUNSELOR FIELD OFFICER

The Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC) is a not for profit organization based in Jordan, established to drive the continuous improvement of the quality and safety of health care facilities, services and programs, and foster patient-centered care through developing internationally accepted standards, capacity building and awarding accreditation in partnership with local and regional stakeholders.

As part of the USAID-funded Community Health and Nutrition Activity, which is a 6-year Activity (2020-2026) that aims to improve the nutritional status of children under two ,pregnant, and lactating women in target areas and seeks to support child and maternal health and nutrition status by improving breastfeeding practices, introducing appropriate complementary foods at the right time, and ensuring appropriate child spacing through uptake of postpartum family planning (FP) and use of modern contraceptive methods. Job Summary

Qualifications

Under the supervision of CHN Senior Nutrition Specialist and the HCAC Project Manager, the incumbent will be responsible of the following:

  1. Assist in planning, managing, coordinating and support the delivery of the Lactation Counselors Certification Program (LCCP) activities.
  2. Assist in preparing for and participating in conducting LCCP training activities including the theoretical, clinical, and practicum parts.
  3. Coordinate and Support activities related to the LCCP supportive supervisory mechanism.
  4. Conduct LC coaching visits to the certified lactation counselors, conduct on-the-job training as needed.
  5. Assist in updating the LCCP training and practicum manuals.
  6. Prepare for and assist in conducting the MIYCN/MS and Lactation Counselor Steering Committee meetings. 
  7. Undertake all the administrative, technical coordination required for supporting the program including onsite follow up visits, monitoring, data collection and reporting on required indicators.
  8. Prepare and submit written regular progress reports.

 

 

  1. University degree in health-related field required, (IBCLC is a must and master’s degree is a plus) with 5 – 7 years’ experience in Maternal and Infant healthcare settings,
  2. With knowledge of health care standards, quality improvement methodology, and adult learning principles and participatory training approaches.
  3. Fluent in spoken and written Arabic and English
  4. Good communication skills
  5. Demonstrable ability in report writing
