The Health Care Accreditation Council, a non-profit organization based in Jordan, was established to lead comprehensive quality and safety improvements of the healthcare environment, services, governance, and worker performance through providing customized, high-end products with a commitment to sustainable practices and global standards, in partnership with local and regional stakeholders.

The Health Care Accreditation Council is seeking to recruit the services of a qualified Subject Matter Expert to revise the current Woman Friendly Healthcare Services Standards operating procedures (SOPs) and to include Gender-based violence (GBV) counselling as part of WFHC SOPs and reduce the risks of GBV for women. This activity is part of the “Women Friendly Healthcare Services Recognition System development in Jordan” Project, which aims to advance reproductive and sexual health services provided to women in primary health centers which is funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

Main tasks required:

  1. Review the current Woman Friendly Healthcare Services Standards operating procedures (SOPs) and identify areas for improvement related to Gender-based violence (GBV) counseling and risk reduction.
  2. Collaborate with stakeholders, including healthcare providers, policymakers, and representatives from UNFPA, to gather insights and perspectives on GBV in healthcare settings.
  3. Develop comprehensive SOPs that integrate GBV counseling protocols and risk reduction measures within the Woman Friendly Healthcare Services Standards.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Advanced degree in public health, gender studies, social work, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of professional areas with a focus on gender-responsive approaches.
  3. Proven expertise in Gender-based violence (GBV) counseling protocols and strategies for risk reduction, particularly within healthcare settings.
  4. Experience working on projects funded by international organizations or donors (Additional)
  5. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and facilitate discussions effectively.
  6. Analytical skills to assess existing SOPs, identify gaps, and propose evidence-based solutions for improvement.
